Northern Michigan University is the 17th University in the Country to Sign the Okanagan Charter.

The Okanagan Charter is a landmark document that serves as a guide for educational institutions worldwide to prioritize and enhance the health and well-being of their students, faculty, staff, and communities. The Okanagan Charter recognizes that the pursuit of health and well-being is not just the absence of illness but a holistic approach encompassing physical, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions. It emphasizes the vital connection between individual well-being and the health of the broader community and environment.

Child Care

Looking for childcare? Northern Michigan University is proud to have partnered with Gretchen's House Child Development Centers to bring quality childcare to the Marquette community!  

Our partnership provides lower tuition rates and waitlist priority to NMU employees and students. Enrollment is also open to the community. 

Northern Michigan University is a participating employer in Michigan’s Tri-Share program – eligible employees could have 2/3 of your childcare cost covered through the program.
