Position Title: Buildings & Grounds Attendant

Department:  Dining Services-Central Office

Term of Assignment: continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:             

FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt = overtime eligible

Work Schedule: Variable shifts/days/locations, including the potential for afternoon and weekend shifts; variable shifts, Sunday through Saturday, with the potential start time between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm

Salary: Hourly rate: $18.67 starting; $19.53 working

Travel: No travel

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Under routine supervision, engage in a variety of housekeeping, custodial and maintenance projects in University buildings and on adjacent grounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: High School Graduation or Equivalent

Discipline/Degree Area: 

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:  Valid motor vehicle operator's license as required.

Required Minimum Work Experience:  Combination of two years of experience in custodial and/or building and grounds maintenance work in hotels/motels, apartments, or relevant business or institutional settings.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: 

Physical capability to perform all the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to pass relevant oral, written, and/or performance testing.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 

Completion of relevant training.
Experience in the building trades, grounds maintenance, and/or landscaping.
Demonstrated effective supervisory experience.
Demonstrated effective experience dealing with the public.
