Position Title: Manager-Payables/Cash Mngmnt

Department:  Vendor Payables

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:             

FLSA Status:   Exempt = not eligible for overtime

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required.

Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $54,800-$58,900

Travel: Less than 10%

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the Vendor Payable and Cash Management office which generates all non-payroll disbursements of the University and includes initiation of all wire transfer payments. Assure sufficient cash is available for all University expenditures through monitoring of bank account balances and recommend the amount of cash available to be deposited to or withdrawn from investments. Identify payments that require 1099/1042s reporting and related withholding and prepare and submit appropriate forms to the Internal Revenue Service by required deadlines.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Required Specialized Training/Certifications: 

Required Minimum Work Experience:  Bachelor's Degree in a business related field and three years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting, or auditing. OR Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting, or auditing.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: 
Oral and written communication and comprehension skills.
Current knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment.
Computer and software application skills.
Current knowledge of tax laws.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
Completion of seminars/workshops on compliance in federal tax reporting for disbursements.
Experience with higher education.
