Position Title: Project Manager
Department: NMU Center for Rural Health
Term of Assignment: Two-year term
Term End Date, If Applicable: August 11, 2028
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt = overtime eligible
Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. Two year term position from date of hire.
Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $44,000-$47,000
Travel: Less than 10%
Brief Statement of Duties: Assist NMUCRH team with the overall management and coordination of assigned projects which includes implementation and oversight of a diverse range of administrative and programmatic activities, including, but not limited to marketing and media design, planning and coordinating activities, and developing, documenting and maintaining project data and systems.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Discipline/Degree Area: Public Health or Related Field
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Ability to complete Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification Course and CHW "Train the Trainer" education within four months of hire and maintain active trainer status.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Two years of community and/or healthcare setting experience, including educational projects, research positions, and/or community health volunteer opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Strong communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision, while also working effectively and collaboratively as a team member.
Possess professional knowledge and demonstrate acceptable professional standards.
Experience building and sustaining relationships while demonstrating cultural competency with diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and regional partners and stakeholders.
Ability to travel to meetings workshops, conferences and events.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and projects while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary, including infrequent weekends and evenings.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Master's level coursework in a relevant field.
Current or previous experience working in population health, rural health, and/or health equity.
Training, instructing or teaching experience in a professional capacity.
Experience in platforms such as Canva, Emma, Cvent, Monday.com, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Outreach/event planning experience.
Research and/or data analytics skills and experience.
Knowledge of regional resources available to support the health and well-being of communities.
