Brief Statement of Duties: The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Field Director will oversee the field education component of the BSW Program at NMU. The BSW Field Director will work with students, the BSW Program Director, field instructors, the regional social work community, and other key stakeholders to develop and monitor the student field education experience in accordance with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. The BSW Field Director will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with field agencies, assigning BSW students to placements, addressing barriers to the field education experience that arise, and overseeing the overall quality of the field education program. Candidates must be familiar with standards for successful field education experiences for CSWE accredited programs. As a key team player in the Social Work Department, the Field Director will also teach social work courses. This position is not currently available for sponsorship. This is a campus-based position.

Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Applicant must have an MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution plus five years post-MSW practice experience OR an MSW and PhD in Social Work or a related field plus two years post-MSW practice experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Experience coordinating/directing a field education program. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, and community stakeholders. Social work teaching experience in both in-person and online teaching modalities. Knowledge of social work values, ethics, and accreditation standards. Interest in pursuing scholarly and service activities relative to the department's mission.
