Position Title: Staff Physician

Department:  Health Center

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:             

FLSA Status:   Exempt = not eligible for overtime

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no nights, weekends, or on-call

Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $137,680-$155,000

Travel: No travel

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Provides comprehensive primary care services to eligible University students, faculty, staff, dependents of faculty/staff 16 years and older, and select retirees.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree

Discipline/Degree Area:  M.D. or D.O.

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:  Completed or pending completion: residency and board certification in family medicine or internal medicine.
Current license to practice in the State of Michigan.
Current DEA and state of Michigan Controlled Substance certificate.

Required Minimum Work Experience:  Experience acquired as a result of their program and residency requirements, licensure.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: 

Knowledge of the information and techniques required to diagnose and treat human injury and disease, and preventative health care measures recommended from adolescence to elderly.
Excellent oral and written communication and comprehension skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to document information concisely, completely and clearly.
Continuous learning - the ability and desire to attain additional knowledge and skills, as necessary.
Interpersonal orientation - a bias toward collaborative, collegial working relationships and assistance toward others.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 

Administrative skills that could lead to future leadership assignments.
Previous experience with use of Electronic Medical Records system.
Experience with and ability to manage psychological/psychiatric conditions.
Training in, and current practice of, placement of IUDs and subdermal implants for contraception.
Experience providing travel medicine consultation and services.
