Position Title: Digital Media Manager

Department:  Intercollegiate Athletics

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:             

FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt = overtime eligible

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required.

Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $40,640-$43,700

Travel: Less than 10%

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: 
Responsible for the creation and effective execution of overall content and video production strategy across all aspects of the NMU Athletic Department and its sports teams. Responsible for creating dynamic and engaging content to promote the NMU Athletics brand. Provide oversight and strategic direction of photography, videography and graphic design endeavors including features and interviews, as well as the department's social media accounts.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Degree Area: 

Required Specialized Training/Certifications: 

Required Minimum Work Experience: 
One year of experience in a photographic and/or video role with a portfolio demonstrating depth of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: 
Ability to manage a production schedule and meet and enforce deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of digital photography, lighting, audio recording, and cinematography.
Knowledge and understanding of different sports and their rules, terminology, and other background information.
Ability to photograph fast-paced athletics games.
Ability to conceptualize and bring vision/storyboards to life.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
Ability to adapt to utilizing progressive camera systems as technology improves.
Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
Dedication to detail, organization, and good design.
Knowledge of copyright and model release standards and regulations.
Customer service skills.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 
Bachelor's Degree in Photography, Cinematography, or related field.
Experience with motion graphics.
Experience as talent in live production.
Commercial photography/video experience.
Audio engineering and post-production experience.
Proficiency in Adobe Create Cloud and/or equivalent design tools.
