Position Title: Printing Services Coordinator

Department:  University Marketing/Commnctns

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:             

FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt = overtime eligible

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday - Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Salary: $16.10

Travel: No travel

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Serve as liaison between the customer and the department. Responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers. Ensure that customer requirements are professionally met. Clearly communicate customer requirements to the production team as well as educate the customer on the department's capabilities, services and values. Monitor emails, process orders, and assist in file prep for production.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: High School Graduation or Equivalent

Discipline/Degree Area: 

Required Specialized Training/Certifications: 

Required Minimum Work Experience:  Two years' experience working in a print shop or customer service related environment or with graphic design OR a Bachelor's Degree.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: 

Understanding of customers' needs and requirements that relate to production processes.
Basic understanding of printing terminology and practices.
Knowledge of how to manage electronic files and databases.
Working knowledge of Mac and PC platforms, including basic ERP software.
Basic knowledge of print production; pre-press, mailing, and/or large format printing.
Proven ability to accurately calculate job cost, and write job tickets.
Ability to manage copier service contracts, monitor inventory and collect data for reporting (as needed).
Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with comprehensive skills to deal with a broad variety of people.
Strong computer skills; working knowledge of computer applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email).
Possess a sales aptitude.
Excellent critical thinking skills and good judgment.
Time management and work prioritization skills in order to manage the demands of multiple departments.
Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships promoting constructive and cooperative working relationships.
Ability to create quotes and estimates from department established rates.
Ability to write clear and complete job tickets.
Ability to learn department computer systems.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Ability to deal calmly and effectively with customer complaints.
Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks efficiently.
Tact, sensitivity, and professionalism.
Ability to effectively analyze situations and solve problems.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 

Knowledge of a variety of print production equipment, e.g., digital imaging press, color copiers/printers, bindery.
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations.
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, PDF and PDF prepress function.
Knowledge of USPS requirements.
Experience in printing/graphic arts.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience using PrintSmith Management System.
Understanding of print drivers and how to install and set-up to support the copier program.
Working knowledge of Mac and PC platforms including industry standard publishing software, and pre-press setup.
Experience with design software.
