Greatest achievement
Among my most meaningful achievements as a professor are the opportunities I have had to guide students toward their own professional and leadership “nirvanas” in accounting and business. I have taken great pride in helping them secure positions and internships with esteemed firms such as EY, Deloitte, KPMG, BDO, Plante Moran, Grant Thornton, Rehmann, AHP, Tailored CPAs, and many other respected organizations. My students’ success continues to inspire me, as does the privilege of teaching such exceptional individuals. I was honored to receive the MICPA Accounting Teaching Excellence Award (2020) and to be selected by graduates as Northern Michigan University’s Student-Selected Commencement Speaker, a deeply humbling recognition of the relationships built through teaching and mentorship. Earning my Ph.D. and CPA license stand as foundational milestones in my professional journey. In addition to teaching, I am a prolific researcher, with publications exploring critical issues in accounting, ethics, technology use, and higher education, contributions that have advanced both scholarship and classroom practice. I have been recognized by NMU with awards for Excellence in Online Teaching, Excellence in Teaching, and Excellence in Scholarship, as well as by the College of Business for Outstanding Graduate Faculty, Outstanding Research, and Outstanding Undergraduate Faculty.
